Bioagricert and FoodChainID in the spotlight of the Sustainable Foods Summit 2024

Bioagricert and FoodChainID participated with a large delegation at the annual Sustainable Foods Summit held in Amsterdam on the 4th and 5th of July 2024.

This fifteenth European edition – which saw Bioagricert and FoodChainID among the Supporting Organisations for the first time – addressed the topics of the environmental and social impact of agri-food supply chainsresearch and innovation in ingredient production as well as new trends and developments in the agri-food market.

  • Ruud Overbeek (Senior Vice President FoodChainID) participated as a speaker in the first session on 4 July dedicated to the environmental and social impact of agri-food supply chains.  Ruud, citing as an example the new EU regulation on deforestation and the obligations imposed on commodity users, focused his speech on the criteria, methods and tools that enable agri-food companies to ensure the compliance and transparency of complex and articulated supply chains.
  • Laura Misani (Head of Bioagricert Sustainability Department), on the other hand, moderated the third session of the second day, which addressed marketing issues and opportunities related to food and beverage sustainability.
  • Pamela Klein (Executive Director of Sales and Strategic Relationships at FoodChain ID) and Alessandro Pulga (Client&Sales manager Bioagricert) presided over the commercial side of this important conference, where plant-based products, organic and regenerative agriculture were confirmed as indispensable “key points” for orienting production systems and markets towards eco-sustainable development and consumption models.
